SSA MLS NEXT SOCCER PROGRAM

OVERVIEW

The platform, created by Major League Soccer in 2020, includes more than 8,000 players throughout the U.S. and Canada, and consists of elite year-round competition, as well as player identification initiatives, coaching education opportunities, and additional programming to create the premier player development environment.

SSA will have one clubwide MLS Next team in each age group, coached by USSF/UEFA 'A' licensed coaches, and will practice and play out of our Marietta-area venues, including Marathon Park.

MLS Next Tier 1 'Home Grown' teams (all age groups) will play a year-round schedule of regular-season games, college showcase events, and playoffs, requiring U15-U19 age group players to forgo the traditional High School spring season.

SSA's MLS Next Tier 2 'Academy Development' teams will also practice and play out of the Marietta area, with U13-U14 teams playing a year-round schedule and the U15-U19 teams playing a Fall-only season so that U15-U19 players can participate in the regular Spring High School season.
